Council staff arrested amid police corruption probe

 

Four employees of Leeds City Council have been arrested on suspicion of bribery as part of an ongoing corruption investigation by West Yorkshire Police.

The force's economic crime unit described the case as "complex" and confirmed a total of nine arrests. All individuals have been released on bail while further enquiries continue.

Leeds City Council has suspended the four staff members involved, according to a spokesperson for the authority.
