Tommy Robinson reportedly leaves UK after assault investigation at St Pancras

Far-right activist Tommy Robinson is believed to have fled the country after police launched an investigation into a serious alleged assault at St Pancras International station in London.

The incident, which occurred on Monday evening, left a man unconscious on the station concourse. Footage shared online appeared to show Robinson, 42, pacing nearby as the victim lay motionless on the floor.

British Transport Police confirmed that the suspect, a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire, boarded a flight out of the country in the early hours of Tuesday morning. "Detectives are continuing to work closely to progress the investigation and bring him into custody for questioning," a spokesperson said.

In the circulating footage, Robinson—whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon—can be heard saying, "He f***ing came at me, bruv," before walking away down a flight of stairs. The video does not show how the man sustained his injuries, but a bystander can be heard urgently calling for assistance for the victim.

Earlier that day, Robinson had posted videos of himself in London promoting a protest scheduled for 13 September. Following the incident, he reshared a post on X (formerly Twitter) defending his actions. The post, written by Mike Hacks, claimed:

"A pre-emptive strike is totally legal. Tommy Robinson – controversial or not – was going about his business. Someone tried to attack him, and they came off worse."

Robinson was released from HMP Woodhill in May after serving seven months for contempt of court. He was jailed in October 2023 for repeatedly breaching a 2021 injunction preventing him from making false allegations against a Syrian refugee who had previously won a libel case against him.
