U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested potential destinations for his first international trip should he secure a second term in office. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump
mentioned Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom as likely options, according to CNN.
“It could be Saudi Arabia, it could be the UK. Traditionally, it’s been the UK,” Trump said. “But last time, I went to Saudi Arabia because they agreed to purchase $450 billion worth of U.S. merchandise. If a similar deal were on the table, I’d consider doing that again.”
Trump also revealed plans to speak with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer within the next 24 hours. During his comments, he praised the UK leader, signaling the importance of the transatlantic relationship.
CNN noted that Trump’s first overseas trip as president in 2017 began in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That visit was part of a 10-day tour spanning five countries across the Middle East and Europe. Photo by Gage Skidmore, Wikimedia commons.
